Cancellations
We will confirm courses on the basis of receiving deposits of GBP200.If a course is cancelled more than 2 weeks before the startingdate after the deposits have been paid then there is a GBP 50administration charge. If accommodation has also been arrangedthere is also a charge of the accommodation placement fee of GBP
50.
If a course is cancelled less than 1 week before the starting date then after deposits have been paid there is a GBP50 administration charge. If accommodation has also been arranged and the course cancelled or postponed within 1 week of the starting date, there is also a charge for the accommodation finding fee PLUS one week’s accommodation charges. This is because we have to pay the host family for that first week.
If a course is cancelled after the course has started there is no refund under any circumstances. If the course is longer than 4 weeks, a credit note will be given for the unused part of the course after 4 weeks. This may be used within one year and cannot be transferred to another student or to another school. There is no credit for cancelled courses during the first 4 weeks of the course.
Students wishing to transfer between schools within the UK once they have already started their course will be charged a transfer fee of GBP 50. The student is solely responsible for transport costs involved in transferring to the other school.
If accommodation is cancelled after a student has arrived, one week’s notice must be given, or a one week accommodation charge paid. If a student requests to change accommodation an additional accommodation finding fee may be charged. If a student decides to leave accommodation the school has arranged and wants money he or she has paid to the school refunded, this will be possible for those weeks remaining, provided that at least one week’s notice is given.
If a student cancels a course owing to failure to obtain a visa and documentary evidence for this from the relevant Embassy or Consulate can be provided then an administrative charge of GBP 50 will be made. All other amounts will be refunded. Again, if a student has booked and confirmed accommodation, and then cancels with less than 1 week’s notice, the student will be charged the first week of accommodation.
Holidays
Students wishing to take a holiday during their course may take 1 week’s holiday for every 12 weeks of study. This holiday time should be requested in their original application. Extra holiday requests will be dealt with by the school and granted at the school’s discretion.
